Cleanning at SHeng-Kung

It is toward at end of school year. My school made us to clean everything that we have. We have to move all the books from the office at home. My school will make a make up for floors and classrooms. It is a lot of work but at the same time, it is a big mess here. After cleaning, the floors will be shiny and cool. Everyone will feel comfortable.

Today, after our meeting, I went to pick up my son, Alan. We together went to the face shop. I made them to clean my face. Every month, I will make people to clean my face. Finally, we went home. When we arrived home, there's nothing on the fridge. I brought Alan to eat noodles outside.

David arrived home and he called us. At that time, we rushed home quickly. I went upstars to prepare our luggage to Hong-Kong. It was a lot of job, cleaning and washing and packing. Finally I got everything I wanted to bring. Alan has his books, too. I am so excited that we our going to departure to Hong-Kong tomorrow.

Excitment!

How excited I'm. I am going to Hong-Kong, this weekend. I never been to Hong-Kong. Alan had been to Hong-Kong many times already. I am very excited to go shopping and be with my son Alan. I am very busy in these days. After finishing grading all the exams and count all the grades, I am very tired already, but I need to clean my house, too. After all the work is done, I will go to have a little vacation. I am very excited.

Cute Car

It is a small car for some people. It is too small for me. I prefer bigger one, like Lexus 4 by 4.

Bosa

Now, we can enjoy a wonderful Egyptian food in Tainan city in Taiwan. Bosa is the only one Egyptian restaurant here in town. Many Tainan citizens like to eat different kinds of food from different cultures.

The food is very nice, they have from salad to main dish. The main dish includes salad, soup, desserts, and drinks. The Egyptian ice tea is very nice.

The Business Lunch is good but it is only available from Monday thru Friday. From 1:30AM~2:00PM, the meal includs Soup, Salad, Egyptian Kar-kaday Tea, Dessert And Drinks. The most important thing about Business Lunch is that you can enjoy 20% disccount.

The good thing is over the weekends, we can enjoy the belly dance at that restaurant. The dish might be expensive but you can enjoy 20 minute show.

The owner of the resturant is an authentic Egyptian cook married to a Taiwanese woman. Both of them are very kind and polite, they made us to feel comfortable at their restaurants.

This is my favorite dish, Grilled chicken kebabs with vegetables and Egyptian rice.

Many of my coworkers ordered Stewed beef with vegetables on Egyptian rice. It looks good, too, but I prefer my kebabs.

The dessert looks good too with nice decoration. I really like the taste of it. It is nice and delicious.

Overall, the food was fantastic, everything was so great. I will bring my family over there, next time.

Make sure you make your own reservations before you go over there. Also, the restaurat offers a nice Egyptian breakfast, too for $160 NT dollars.

Lunch with English Department at Sheng-Kung

It is almost close to the end of school year. Every department had fest meeting. We went to a Bosa Restaurant in Tainan City. This restaurant is mainly an Egyptian food. The owner of this restaurant is an ex student from the school where I teach. She gave us 10% of discount. The food and the decoration are not so bad.

I ordered chicken kabab with Egyptian rice. It is so delicious. The main meal comes with soup, salad, drink and dessert. I really like the taste of rice and meat. It has a lot of flavors. i really enjoyed the dish over there.

The Restaurant has lunch special, tea time, and dinner time. I think the price is resonable that everyone can afford it. Also, Thursday night, you can see belly dance and Tuesday night you can have an Egyptian smoke.

Thanks-Giving Dinner from Junior Three C

I am so lucky to be Junior Three C's teacher. A year ago, I taught this class. Unfortunately, this year, I did not teach them any more and they still remembered me. They want to invite all their teachers for lunch, they also, want to thank their teachers for teaching them all these years. I m very pleased and touched by each of them. The lunch was held in a very good restaurant and Alan and I ate too much. There's cake you can eat and juice to drink. I really like this place. One day, I will bring my parents-in-law to eat here. I really had a great time with Junior three C class.

Dragon Boat Festival

5th day of the 5th lunar month
Qu Yuan
The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating zong zi (glutinous rice（糯米）wrapped to form a pyramid using bamboo or reed leaves) and racing dragon boats.

The festival is best known for its dragon-boat races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes. This regatta（赛舟会）commemorates the death of Qu Yuan , an honest minister who is said to have committed suicide by drowning himself in a river.

Qu was a minister of the State of Chu situated in present-day Hunan and Hubei provinces, during the Warring States Period (475-221BC)（战国时期）. He was upright, loyal and highly esteemed for his wise counsel that brought peace and prosperity to the state. However, when a dishonest and corrupt prince vilified Qu, he was disgraced and dismissed from office. Realizing that the country was now in the hands of evil and corrupt officials, Qu grabbed a large stone and leapt into the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth month. Nearby fishermen rushed over to try and save him but were unable to even recover his body. Thereafter, the state declined and was eventually conquered by the State of Qin.

The people of Chu who mourned the death of Qu threw rice into the river to feed his ghost every year on the fifth day of the fifth month. But one year, the spirit of Qu appeared and told the mourners that a huge reptile（爬行动物）in the river had stolen the rice. The spirit then advised them to wrap the rice in silk and bind it with five different-colored threads before tossing it into the river.

During the Duanwu Festival, a glutinous rice pudding called zong zi is eaten to symbolize the rice offerings to Qu. Ingredients such as beans, lotus seeds（莲子）, chestnuts（栗子）, pork fat and the golden yolk of a salted duck egg are often added to the glutinous rice. The pudding is then wrapped with bamboo leaves, bound with a kind of raffia and boiled in salt water for hours.

The dragon-boat races symbolize the many attempts to rescue and recover Qu's body. A typical dragon boat ranges from 50-100 feet in length, with a beam of about 5.5 feet, accommodating two paddlers seated side by side.

A wooden dragon head is attached at the bow, and a dragon tail at the stern（船尾）. A banner hoisted on a pole is also fastened at the stern and the hull is decorated with red, green and blue scales edged in gold. In the center of the boat is a canopied shrine behind which the drummers, gong（铜锣）beaters and cymbal（铙钹）players are seated to set the pace for the paddlers. There are also men positioned at the bow to set off firecrackers, toss rice into the water and pretend to be looking for Qu. All of the noise and pageantry creates an atmosphere of gaiety and excitement for the participants and spectators alike.

The races are held among different clans, villages and organizations, and the winners are awarded medals, banners, jugs of wine and festive meals.

劉明峰星光第５名畢業 懊悔動手打前女友 情緒崩潰

中視「超級星光大道」昨天進入第一季準決賽，劉明峰演唱「秋意濃」及創作曲「藍色天」慘遭敗北，確定無緣晉級總決賽。劉明峰難掩落寞語氣表示，他對此結果早在預料之中，「這一路比下來，我自己很清楚，我的表演已經出現疲態。」

劉明峰成績停留在第５名就畢業，但林宥嘉、潘裕文、盧學叡及周定緯沒有不捨的淚水，下了台則是肯定劉明峰創作能力，並鼓勵他放寬心多加油。他們表示，因是提前選出第５名，並非淘汰賽，所以內心並無多大感傷。劉明峰則為自己做心理建設，他笑說：「越到後面壓力越大，現在什麼東西都能放下了，雖然心裡還是覺得怪怪的，但從去年12月８日比到現在，我真的學到很多東西。」

錄影現場沒淘汰賽時的感傷，但提起前女友主動向媒體爆料他曾動手打人之事，劉明峰卻情緒潰堤，他說：「真的很對不起，男子漢大丈夫敢做敢當，我確實吵架時推過她。」

劉明峰昨天因表現不佳，失去參賽資格，但在７月６日的總決賽上，製作單位將安排他上台演出。而日前因謊報年齡自行退賽的楊宗緯，也將與曹格及蕭敬騰合唱成名曲「背叛」。至於楊宗緯退賽後的生涯規畫，評審袁惟仁透露，華研唱片已開始積極培訓他，「唱片公司陸續跟我們邀歌，我們也都答應幫忙。」

「超級星光大道」負面新聞不斷，收視也開始出現疲態，上集播出平均5.44收視，明顯不如過往平均收視6.87，現場觀眾也少了一半。是否受楊宗緯退出影響，製作人詹仁雄表示：「這很難評估，但已經很好了，我也不可能每集都做到８吧。」

第一季總決賽將近，昨天在高雄舉辦的第二季南區初選會擠進600人排隊等候報名，與當初第一季僅100人報名情況相較，不可同日而語。

Meat Dumplings Competition

Alan had his abacus national competition. While Alan was in the test, I took the time to see the competition for adults. It is the meat dumpling competition. Every year at the Dragon Festival, each house will prepare meat dumplings. It is a traditional dish in Taiwan. Personally, I did not like it but now in these days, people make it to have business. It doesn't have traditional flavor anymore. It is more money making. Anyways, I enjoyed to see the competition. It was so fun to see grand moms and moms over there.

Abacus Competition

Today, my baby Alan have national abacus competition. This competition is held in Tainan city closer to my school Sheng-Kung Girls High School. Alan was so excited to go over there. He was not too nervous. He had his practice at his cram school. He really like this kind of competition. Every child was so nervous but Alan was smiling and playing, he was more relaxing than ever. I hope he did a wonderful job in this test.

La Comida

Today, in our Spanish class, we will learn something about Latino Food. Th food in Latin America are so different from food in Asia or in United States of America. The most popular dish in Mexico as my main dish of teaching are tacos. I prepared 50 tacos for my 50 students. They all enjoyed. I also made salad and cake for them to eat. I think they all have a wonderful sharing time today. It is a very relaxing day.

Through this lesson, I can also ask them what kinds of things are they eating. They have to tell me ll the ingredient in Spanish. This will work very well, because they won't just eat but they will taste and learn at the same time. Teaching about food is my favorite thing to do, not just in Spanish language but also in English, too.

興建十年 花東玉長公路正式通車 張揆剪綵

讓花東居民等了好久的玉長公路，今天終於開放通車，這條隧道公路，連接花蓮玉里和台東長濱，過去來往需要2小時的車程，通車以後將大幅縮減成半個小時，更將促進花東地區的觀光事業。

行政院長張俊雄剪下紅綵帶，宣告玉長公路正式通車，當地居民也帶來原住民傳統舞蹈，開心慶祝。

不過，其實玉長公路早在兩個月前就已經完工，但遲遲不肯通車，外傳是為了等大官剪綵。

張揆：「這個完成是到昨天才完成，那現在的通車，事實上是比預定的提早半年，所以前一陣子，他所傳說的要配合某某人的行程，這個是一個很大的扭曲」

歷時十年興建的玉長公路，全長16.22公里，西起花蓮玉里，東至台東長濱，其中最艱鉅的一項工程，就是貫穿海岸山脈、全長2660公尺的玉長隧道。

通車後來往花東兩地，以往得耗上2個小時的車程，現在大幅縮減只要30分鐘，這麼省時的公路，也讓不少民眾一早就來排隊，等著搶頭香通行。
民眾：從台北早上五點出發，特地要來走這一條。

雖然之前曾有民眾因為等不及通車，自行搬開公路局架設的路障，強行通過，不過現在趕在端午假期的第一天，玉長公路終於正式通車，未來不論是花東民眾還是觀光客，都可以大大方方行駛在這條公路上。

愛美危機！愛穿高跟鞋 妙齡女子「凍甲」好痛～

喜歡穿高跟鞋的女士們可要多多注意了，長時間穿高跟鞋，尤其是尖頭的高跟鞋，腳趾頭遭擠壓容易變形，最近皮膚科醫師接獲不少病患求診，都是因為穿高跟鞋腳趾頭變形，指甲直接嵌入皮膚內，造成甲溝炎，差點引發蜂窩性組織炎。

穿起高跟鞋走路起來顯得婀娜多姿，不過如果長時間穿著高跟鞋，腳趾頭被擠在尖尖的鞋尖裡，後果會很嚴重。一名20幾歲上班族長期穿高跟鞋，最近腳趾頭疼痛的不得了，甚至還流膿，找醫師求診確定是「凍甲」，也就是甲溝炎。

醫皮膚科醫師王國憲指出，甲溝炎基本上是指甲插入甲溝造成的，合併有細菌感染，所以一定要用一些抗生素來治療，細菌感染控制不好還是會惡化成蜂窩性組織炎。

這名女子原本不以為意，不料指甲坎入皮膚愈來愈深，甚至周邊還長出肉芽腫，走起路來只能一拐一拐的，醫師說除了高跟鞋是造成甲溝炎的元兇外，其實指甲修剪不當也是甲溝炎發生的主因之一。

王國憲說，指甲側面如經常修剪，會讓側面的指甲往裡面生長，就會刺傷甲溝，所以指甲剪的方式，建議在外側的地方沿著水平的方式剪就可以了。

醫師發現每到夏天，得甲溝炎病患增加3成，提醒民眾還是少穿高跟鞋，以免腳指頭變形掛病號。

Food Lesson in Spanish

Today, I had a Spanish lesson about food. All the students really enjoyed it. They tasted sample of burritos, salad and meat. Also a Spanish cake. They all like it and they also remember vocabulary words. My hard work is payed off. I really enjoyed teaching this group of students in this year. This group of students ate in 10th graders.

兩道自動防護系統失效 火車頭撞電聯車 5死17傷

鐵路宜蘭線大里站南方十五日發生火車對撞重大交通事故，莒光號車頭撞上行駛中的電聯車，造成五死十七傷，客車車廂內外一片斷臂殘肢，乘客大喊「救命！」，有的被嚇得呆若木雞，搶救人員衣褲沾血，手腳邊發抖邊救人。

檢警和鐵路單位初步調查，允許電聯車南下的綠燈有亮而繼續行駛，此時同為西側軌道的莒光號車頭，應為紅燈，要等電聯車通過轉轍器，換行東側軌道後，莒光號車頭才可通行。兩列車的司機員都平安，都通過酒精測試，號誌變換都有紀錄，因此是行車號誌故障或列車司機疏忽造成重大事故，不難查明。

號誌故障或人禍 究責
台鐵這起火車相撞的意外事故，東幹線因此癱瘓，共取消七十三班列車，十多萬名乘客受影響。台鐵緊急派出十遊覽車在宜蘭石城和龜山接駁，疏運乘客。

台鐵主秘張應輝表示，在宜蘭大里發生嚴重列車「邊撞事故」肇事列車，證實是三九○二次試運轉列車上的自動防護系統ＡＴＰ失效，導致列車闖越號誌時，未能發揮作用緊急煞車，再加上司機員沒有遵守號誌前進，兩道安全關卡都失效，才會釀成大禍！

張應輝表示，肇禍的三九○二次列車司機員是黃林忠良，五十二年次，七十八年九月一日到台鐵服務，八十六年一月起擔任司機員，過去沒有肇事紀錄，是台鐵的優良駕駛，這次出意外之後，已被調離駕駛職務，後續懲處將在調查後決定。

「優良駕駛」疑操控閃神
台鐵調閱行車紀錄發現，司機員黃林忠良進大里站前接獲「等待」的指令，也有煞車，由時速八十公里減為四十多公里，可能是閃神、或是天雨路滑煞車不及，才會撞上另一列車。

攔腰撞上 削掉車廂外殼
昨日上午八時半，編號二七一九車次的區間電聯車，由樹林開車南下，預定十一時四十五分抵達蘇澳站，十時廿八分，由大里站開出約三百公尺時，第二節車廂，被北上的電力火車頭攔腰撞上。

由於撞擊力過大，不但產生「碰！」的巨大聲響，同時冒出濃煙，載著四十多位乘客的電聯車，遭重撞的第二節等車廂嚴重脫軌，車廂靠撞擊點的外殼整個被削掉、不見了，有的車輪掉落、飛脫而出。

殘肢散落鐵軌 景象駭人
車內的旅客更慘，有人從被撞破的車門飛彈而出，非死即傷，還有人因車廂走道破裂，掉落車廂下的鐵軌，殘肢四散，景象駭人，宛如人間煉獄。
宜蘭縣消防局據報，幾乎出動縣內所有救護車，一輛輛大鳴警笛呼嘯趕到現場，一波接一波波載著傷者、受驚嚇的旅客，緊急送往縣內各大醫院急救，救護車在北部濱海公路宜蘭段穿梭不停，時間足足長達兩個多小時，也讓幾家後送醫院傷滿為患。

Today at Sheng-Kung's Girls High School had a Jazz Chant competition. This competition is based on Junior One students. All of them did a great job. They worked so hard to have today's performance. I am very proud of all of my students.

Appointment with the Principal

This morning at the 4th period, I had an appointment with my school principal. She was telling me about students' evaluation on me. Students wrote that I am a good person with a good heart. I helped them a lot and I give them a lot of vocabulary to learn. I gave them an appropriate amount of work, but sometimes too much homework. I am always on time to class.

All these above feedback from students made me really happy. But there's things to improve like they want to watch movies, listen to the music and do not give them any tests.

The improvement section is impossible for me. I will still give them tests with appropriate amount of homework. I won't show them any movies at this point. I w ill still do my best.

Their feedback made me really happy. I am really happy to teach them and be with my students, but sometimes, they will make me really angry.

謊報年齡 楊宗緯哭著認錯

楊宗緯昨天現身承認謊報年齡：「我做錯了，對不起大家，也得到教訓，唯一選擇就是退出比賽。」鼓起勇氣重新站在中視「超級星光大道」舞台，千名粉絲擠爆攝影棚，楊宗緯面對「星光幫」其他成員、評審和現場觀眾，一面哭、一面認錯、感謝，粉絲心疼陪哭、不捨，頻頻呼喊他回節目，楊宗緯數度哭到說不出話。

楊宗緯退出新聞熱炒，中視「超級星光大道」上周五收視持續增強最高破8%收視率，製作人詹仁雄說服楊宗緯到錄影現場，在星光幫和藝人合唱部分結束時現身說分明，陶子現場問楊宗緯幾歲？為什麼要少報年齡？心情怎麼樣等問題，給媒體和粉絲一個真相。

楊宗緯說：「我是67年次的，29歲，當初只是想唱歌，沒想太多，只是用一個大四學生應有的年齡寫報名表，沒想到造成這麼多誤解和困擾，真的很對不起。」如果報名的假身分證影本有任何法律問題，楊宗緯說：「我自己承擔。」

大學讀了8年的楊宗緯，以前參加過許多歌唱比賽填年紀時都這樣報，但這次打進10強，又被網友質疑年齡後，才覺得事態嚴重，「我要退出的原因有兩個，一個是做錯事以示負責，一個是媒體壓力太大。」楊宗緯表示家人支持他出來說清楚，這幾天他跑步、游泳，藉運動排解壓力，退賽他不後悔。

楊宗緯希望星光幫其他5位成員要繼續努力，他哽咽著說：「我這幾天看了一部電影『巧克力工廠』，我想對你們說，全世界就只有5張金券，是被你們5個人拿到…」言外之意，難掩自己失去機會的遺憾。

陶晶瑩錄節目哭了好幾次，她忍不住怪楊宗緯說：「你為什麼要少報年紀？你以為我們愛你，是因為你年輕又帥氣嗎？」她在台上要求楊宗緯決賽時來當表演嘉賓獻唱，在粉絲尖叫聲中，楊宗緯難以拒絕，不過他私底下表示，家人不希望他當藝人，要他當平凡人就好，因此除了已簽約的星光幫合輯，其他都未定。

昨天錄影現場可容納600名觀眾的攝影棚，卻擠進一千多名粉絲和媒體，評審張宇覺得楊宗緯謊報年齡的事沒什麼，他比喻說：「就像有女孩子明明C罩杯會說成D罩杯一樣嘛。」製作人詹仁雄強調尊重楊宗緯退賽決定，面對外界各種不同聲浪，他說：「我很心疼他。」

Thanks-Giving Dinner from Junior Three J

Last year, I taught Junior Three J at Sheng-Kung Girls High School. This year, they are going to graduate, and they invited me for tea time. I really appreciate their kindness. Even I did not teach them this year, they still rebember me. That makes me very happy.

The tea time was held at the Tainan Hotel's Restaurant. It is five stars hotel with everything inside. The tea time was great, I thought I will just eat sweet things but it turned out, it has everything from saseme, sushi, hot dishes to cakes. It was amazing tea time with students.

I really enjoyed taking pictures with them.

To show my appreciation, I bought Ferrero Rocher chocolates for each of them. It is very expensive chocolate but everyone like it, it seemed everyone enjoyed my gift. They are all happy and unexpected!

Thanks-Giving Dinner from Sheng-Kung

Each Year at Sheng-Kung's school will have a thank you dinner for every teacher at school. This year, they had a fest at the Chinatrust Hotel (台南中信大飯店) in Tainan city. This is a new hotel in town and my school signed the discount contract with them. This means that when we Sheng-Kung teachers go to eat over there, we can get 10% Off. It is very good deal, also, the night spending at the hotel can be 50% off. A good deal if I have my guests coming from far away.

The buffet style is good, they will sign and play piano for you while you are eating at the buffet. I think when my parents-in-law come to Tainan, I will bring them over there to eat.

The meal at the fest was not so good compared as last year's fest. However, I enjoyed talking to my co-workers. The weather was not so good enough, well, we survived and I enjoyed.

Unfortunately, I could not bring Alan at the dinner. He spent time with Mark's wife and his daughter. They four of them went to a KFC. Alan enjoyed play with Ya-Ya. I am glad he is a growing up child who can protect Ya-Ya.

Graduation Ceremony Junior Three

This year, I was so excited because I could see my own students graduating. Comparing this graduation to the last year's graduation, I did not know any of them. But this year, many of my students want to take pictures with me. It made my hard work paid off. I am really happy about them but unfortunately, I did not even teach Junior three now. They are growing up and they will continue senior one on the next step. SOme of them will continue at Sheng-Kung and some of them will be at the other schools.
