Job Interview!
On July 15th 2005, I had a job interview at Sheng-Kong Girl's High school (天主教聖功女子高級中學) in Tainan at 11 AM. I took the train from 桃園 to 台南. The night before the interview, I couldn't sleep, I was so nervous. The entire evening, I was thinking what to say, what if I do not understand their questions and how am I going to asnwer them? There were so many things going on in my head.
The next morning, I woke up at 9 AM, I took shower, I put my make up and I dressed up for a job interview. I was really to go to my job interview. David (my husband) came to pick me up. When we arrived to the high school, I knew many people were expecting me. Everybody treated me so nice. David told me not to be nervous and think what you are going to tell them. The interview time arrived, Camille, an English teacher came to the door and asked me a few questions in both Chinese and in English. It is the time for testing my English abilities oraly. Camille asked me what kind of teaching methods did I use when I was in USA? What kind of grades did I teach? How was the education system in USA? and more. I was so nervous, but everything turned better than I thought. After passing the test, it is the time to go to see the high school principal. At this time, I was more nervous then before.
Camille introduced me to the principal. The principal of 聖功 is a lady, a very young and beautiful lady. I could not imagine that she is the principal of this high school. After talking to the principal, I found myself that she is a very nice lady, I was calmer than before. After passing the test and preeteaching, the principal told me that I should prepare to move to Tainan soon. After signing the contract, she showed me the building where my office and my classsrooms will be. She told me that I am the only Chinese teacher who has air condition in the classroom. Also, she told me that every teacher in this high school will envy me. After two hours of interview, finally I could go home. David escaped from his work, he was waiting for me outside all this time. All I wanted was the contract, I got what I wanted. I was very happy to go home with my new teaching job. Yo he triunfado ahora.
