Alan's Summer Homework

Alan has the duty to finish his summer homework today. He is going start third grade tomorrow. Most of the schools in Taiwan will start a new school year tomorrow. However, some of the schools started already this Monday.

Alan is so excited that he could see his friends at school. I am so happy for him that he likes school. Most of children do not like school. I am worry about him because he is going to have school from 7:50 A.M. to 7 P.M. whole day long. He will be tired after that.

In Taiwan, all teachers will give summer homework to students because they want them to keep up with their language. Once they do not write or read in Chinese, they will forget, and teachers will need to reteach them. I can imagine in a class of 50 students, that will be a lot of work. Parents expect teachers teach better to their students.

This situation compared to United States of America, children will have happy, playing summer vacation and no homework at all. I want my son to have happy child memory, but not a lot of study.
